Here we go

So this is my very first post in the blogging world. I don't really even know what to say right now except HI. We'll see how this goes, if I like it, want to keep doing it, or if I am even able to do it. My hope is that I can get the hang of this blog thing and make it work.

I have a secret that I have to keep until April 16, 2007. It's not that far away but still this is proving very difficult. Here's the secret. A good friend of mine is turning 40 and his wife is trying to organize a surprise party for him. The difficuly lies in the fact that he and his family moved from Florida to New Hampshire 7 years ago. We fell out of touch--and yes I did try to find him on several occasions during that time--and haven't spoken since they left. I few nights ago I got a phone call from his nephew looking for me to invite me to the party. I now have my friends phone number, both house and cell, and his address. It's killing me not being able to just call him up but I am under strict orders from his wife not to call him and blow the surprise.

The really sick thing about all of this is how easy it should have been to actually fine my friend. Stupid me kept spelling his name wrong when I would do searches for him plus I couldn't remember what state he moved to. Only that is was somewhere in New England. To make me feel even dumber he has an NFL blog on a news web site right here in my home town. I feel like a bumbling idiot. Anyway, I'm just very thankful that they found me and I will at some point be able to talk to my friend again. I'm working on finding a way to get from Florida to New Hampshire for his 40th birthday party. Hopefully that will work out because I would love to see him and his family again.
